Your eyes are what you eat Part 1/2

June 20, 2019

Did you know your eyes are what you eat? Yes! Our diet, what we eat, influences our vision and the health of our eyes. Here are some suggestions of vision friendly foods:

Carrots

Carrots are good for your eyes. It’s conventional wisdom confirmed by science. Not only carrots, but all vegetables and orange fruits are great friends of your eyes. Beta-carotene, a natural antioxidant, which confers some fruits/veggies their yellow / orange color is one of the ways of ingesting vitamin A, which contributes to a well functioning retina.

Green leaves

Green leaves such as spinach, kale and broccoli, contain antioxidants that protect the eyes and reduce the damage caused by free radicals. Green leaves help reduce the risk of macular degeneration and cataracts, decrease brightness discomfort and improve contrast. They also help boosting your visual range.
