Your Eyes and Your Makeup, here are a few tips…

June 20, 2019

Eyes are the organs of vision. They detect light and convert it into electro-chemical impulses which, after being decoded by the brain, help you understand the space around you. That is why they are so important. You know you should protect your eyes from UV light and the elements by wearing sunglasses, particularly on brighter days. But when it comes to your beauty routine, do you always pay attention to the needs of your eyes? If not, here are some tips:

1. Don’t apply mascara or eye liner when commuting.

A bump in the road and you could damage the cornea or make a scratch that could lead to infection. It’s better if you wake up a bit earlier and do your makeup at home or, if you have a special date, before you leave the office in the evening.

2. Replace your mascara regularly.

Old makeup products can become a breeding ground for bacteria. So, make sure every couple of months you do a review of your makeup products. Check if they have become out of date and always clean after using them.

3. Eat lots of Vitamin A.

This is a nutrient that is essential to vision. Carrots, sweet potatoes, dark leafy greens, melon and lettuce are all rich in Vitamin A.

4. Drink plenty of water.

Yes, your eyes love water. So make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day.
